The Nevada County Sheriff's Office processes applications for License to Carry Concealed for the unincorporated areas of Nevada County as well as the cities of Grass Valley, Nevada City and Truckee. Firearm safety training courses taken more than six months prior to application date will not be considered. Renewal courses must be taken no more than 90 days prior to the renewal date.

Weapon Restrictions
In order for inclusion on a CCW license in Nevada County, a weapon must be a revolver or semi-automatic pistol no smaller than 0.32 caliber with the exception of 0.22 caliber and no larger than 0.45 caliber. No more than 3 weapons shall be listed on the CCW license
