The Farm Advisor is a division of the Community Development Agency. The Farm Advisor Division is a cooperative venture between the County of Nevada, the University of California, and the United States Department of Agriculture. The Farm Advisor Division provides information and training to local residents in the areas of agriculture, nutrition, youth and community development.
Expertise is provided by University of California advisors in the areas of horticulture and small farms, livestock and range management, nutrition, and youth development. Youth development activities are delivered through the 4-H Club program. Nutrition programs provide consumer education to adults and through nutrition classes in elementary schools. Master Gardeners provide advice and training for home gardening and orchards.
