Assessor Parcel Maps
For the Assessor, the basic requirement in describing property is that it clearly designates the property assessed. The simplest and most common method of describing land for assessment purposes is by reference to maps. Assessor's maps may or may not represent legal, buildable lots. Check with the county or city planning departments to verify whether or not a particular Assessor Parcel is a buildable lot.
To view or print a PDF version of an Assessor's Parcel Map, visit the MyNeighborhood GIS tool, search by APN or situs address, and select "Parcel Report" then "View Assessor's Parcel Map PDF". Additional parcel-based data can be found as well, such as situs address, assessed value, land/building characteristics, zoning, districting, local government representative, and select county permit case information associated with the parcel. You may also overlay images, district boundaries, find schools and parks, and upload a text file of addresses and display them on the map.
You can find a Sample Assessor Parcel Map below that can help you understand the various symbols and terms used on the parcel maps.
ParcelQuest Data & Maps
Alternatively, current secured roll property values and current Assessor Parcel Maps for your area are also available using the ParcelQuest search tool. This Property Search tool will allow you to find your property by Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) or by street address. You can find your APN on your Property Tax Bill, or you can call our office for assistance. To search for parcels without street addresses, you will need to use the APN to search.
The Parcel Detail screen will show your APN, Property Status, Situs Address, and abbreviated Legal description. The Values section will include Land Value, Improvement Value, any Exemption amount and the Total Assessed Value. The Secured Roll value is the assessed value used for tax purposes in the current fiscal year.
