A Message from the Director of Public Works.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, DECEMBER 7, 2020, ALL IN-PERSON APPOINTMENTS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT UNDER THE 
REGIONAL STAY-AT-HOME ORDER.   


                                          Public Works will continue to provided services remotely 
                                                   Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

                                    For your convenience Drop-off boxes have been set up outside the 
                       Community Development Agency entrance for submission of paperwork and payments. 
 
Public Works is committed on continuing to work with the Public during the COVID-19 outbreak to avoid business disruption as much as possible by encouraging our customers to use e-Services for many of Public Works available services.  The Public Works Department will by continuing to provide services through email, phone and online services. Visit our Public Works Website for information on the services provided. For those services that are not available through e-Services, please communicate via our Public Works email at Public.Works@co.nevada.ca.us.

While we are encouraging staff to work remotely whenever possible, we will continue to monitor emails, pick-up voice messages and process permit requests digitally. While responses to questions may not be immediate, please be assured that you will receive communication back as quickly as possible.

• If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 immediately.

• Downed power lines should be reported to 911 and then PG&E at 1-800-743-5000.

• If you have a non-emergency road issue, please submit a work order via our online e-service application “AskNevadaCounty” at : https://iframe.publicstuff.com/#?client_id=1000081. If you do not have internet access you may call 530-265-1411 during regular business hours and leave a message that will be picked up periodically. After hours non-emergencies can be reported to the Sheriffs Non-Emergency line at 530-265-7880.

Road Maintenance and Sanitation District crews are fully staffed and working during this time. Snow Plow Operators will be working g 24-hour shifts during storms.
