Revitalizing Grass Valley Veterans Hall CRC Grant Project - Collaborative Stakeholder Structure (CSS) Meeting
Wednesday, February 25, 2026
Meeting Location:
Empire Room, Eric Rood Administration Center, 950 Maidu Ave., Nevada City, CA 95959 & online
Description:
The California Strategic Growth Council’s (SGC) Community Resilience Centers Program (CRC) funds neighborhood-level resilience centers to provide shelter and resources during climate and other emergencies, as well as year-round services and programming that strengthen community connections and ability to withstand disasters.
The Revitalizing Western Nevada County Veteran’s Halls Project is supported by Nevada County, the California Strategic Growth Council’s Community Resilience Centers (CRC) Program, and the collaborative work of our partners FREED Center for Independent Living (in collaboration with Aging and Disability Resource Connection), Gold Country Community Services, and Interfaith Food Ministry of Nevada County
The project involves a combination of capital improvements and programming at the existing Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building. These improvements aim to enhance overall community resilience by providing shelter and resources during extreme weather events and emergencies, expanding community programming, and supporting health, emergency preparedness, and financial well-being for all residents.
The Collaborative Stakeholder Structure (CSS) is comprised of the Nevada County Steering Committee, the Partners, Resident Representatives, and a Program Manager. Together, quarterly meetings will be established and maintained to fully support the objectives of the project.
