After a very competitive process, two Sheriff's employees have been promoted; one Captain and one Lieutenant, effective February 24th.
Mike Walsh has been promoted to Captain, and will be assigned to Patrol Operations. Mike started his law enforcement career at the Grass Valley Police Department as a Reserve Police Officer in 1998. He became a Deputy Sheriff for our office in 2004. As the Operations Captain, Mike will be commanding all of Patrol Operations-Nevada City and Truckee, and Investigations. Sean Scales has been promoted to Lieutenant, and will be assigned to Patrol Operations. Sean started his law enforcement career at the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff in 2006. He became a Deputy Sheriff for our office in 2010. As the Operations Lieutenant, Sean will be managing all of Patrol Operations-Nevada City and Truckee. Sean can be reached at (530) 265-1403.
