On Wednesday December 11, 2019, District III Supervisor Dan Miller was elected as the 2nd Vice-Chair of the Rural County Representatives of California (RCRC). Founded in 1972, RCRC is a thirty-seven member county strong service organization that champions policies in the state capitol on behalf of California’s rural counties. RCRC officers include a Chair, 1st Vice-Chair, 2nd Vice-Chair and the immediate Past Chair with an annual line of succession. On January 15, 2020, Supervisor Miller will be inducted as the RCRC 2nd Vice-Chair along with a rural leadership awards reception at the Hyatt Regency Sacramento, 1209 L Street, Ballroom, Sacramento.
Supervisor Miller has been the County’s representative on RCRC since 2017 and most recently serves on the RCRC Homeowner’s Insurance Subcommittee that was formed to examine the growing homeowner’s insurance crisis in California tasked with developing a set of recommendations to address the issue. In a speech addressing the RCRC Board of Directors, Supervisor Miller outlined his qualifications to serve as the 2nd Chair and an earnest willingness to further promote the unique needs and issues faced by rural communities. In his role as 2nd Vice-Chair Supervisor Miller will be attending and assisting in leading RCRC Executive Committee meetings where he will have the opportunity of setting RCRC policy priorities.
