NOTICE OF FEE ADJUSTMENTS PERTAINING TO COUNTY OF NEVADA SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CLERK OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AGENCY, AND THE TREASURER-TAX COLLECTOR

On June 4, 2019, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 19-242, establishing revised fee schedules for services provided by the (i) Clerk of the Board of Supervisors, (ii) the Community Development Agency (including the Agricultural Commissioner, Building Department, Cannabis Policy and Compliance, Code Compliance, Community Development Administration, Environmental Health, Planning, Public Works, and County Surveyor), (iii) Airport and Facilities (Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building) divisions of the Information and General Services, (iv) Probation Department; (v) Registrar of Voters (Elections), and (vi) the Public Guardian division of the Department of Social Services. This Resolution was amended on June 2, 2020 and established revised fee schedules for services provided by (i) Animal Control & Shelter, (ii) Library, (iii) the Sheriff, and (iv) the Treasurer-Tax Collector, and collectively, with those adopted with the original Resolution 19-242 are referred to as “Fee Schedules.”

Pursuant to Resolution 19-242, the above-referenced Fee Schedules shall be automatically adjusted annually for the next two years, commencing in Fiscal Year 20/21. The annual adjustment shall be the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for urban wage earners and clerical workers in the State of California for the previous 12 months ending in December, if the CPI is more than zero percent. The CPI for the previous 12 months ending in December is 1.83%. Additionally, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Nevada County User Fee Group (UFRG) to review the Fee Schedules to confirm application of the CPI is consistent with cost increases and actual costs of providing the identified services, and where there is a substantial deviation form the CPI and actual costs, the UFRG will recommend to the Board of Supervisors an amended Fee Schedule. Additionally, UFRG is authorized to administratively adjust or add mandatory State-adopted fees to the Fee Schedules if the County is required to collect such fees on behalf of or at the express direction of the State. The fees determined to be subject to CPI or statutory increases are set forth in the fee schedule exhibits A, B and J, and available for review as outlined below.

Notice is hereby given that commencing July 1, 2021, the Fee Schedules subject to the CPI increases as well as any statutory or mandated State-adopted fees adjustments by the UFRG shall take effect.

Those revised Fee Schedules subject to this Notice will be on file and available for public review at the Board of Supervisors Office, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, California, and electronically on the Clerk of the Board website found at https://www.mynevadacounty.com/733/Clerk-of-the-Board, at least sixty days prior to their adoption.
