Take care of the air we breathe, Nevada County!
District 5 Supervisor Hardy Bullock sponsored a board resolution proclaiming this Tuesday, October 6 as California Clean Air Day here in Nevada County. Below are some tips on how you can help reduce negative impacts on air quality and improve the air in indoor spaces.
Preserve Air Quality
- Don’t idle your engine excessively.
- Buy locally grown produce.
- Reduce your consumption of meat.
- Make all online purchases in one order each week.
- Be fire wise. Avoid any activities that may create a spark, especially on Red Flag Warning days. (Wildfire smoke is much more harmful to humans than vehicular emissions.)
Care for Indoor Air Quality
- Keep indoor plants.
- Change the cabin air filter in your car.
- Change your home air filter (e.g., in an HVAC system) regularly.
- Use indoor air purifiers, especially during smoke season.
