[ARCHIVED] Free Green Waste Drop-Off Events

2022-GreenWaste_Sq-2

On March 8, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors took action on seven items moving the County forward on its wildfire preparedness initiative. The Board unanimously approved nearly $850,000 in grant-funded contracts and programs for defensible space and community green waste events, up to $900,000 for storm-related cleanup, and grant applications for over $1 million towards hazardous vegetation removal along County-maintained roadways if awarded.

I am so grateful to live in an area that makes preparedness a priority. From our crews with the equipment to move trees out of the road to the weekend gardeners creating defensible space around their homes, we are all doing our part. It is really the spirit of Ready Nevada County. The County has set up several additional free green waste events in response to the severe winter storm we experienced in late December, and the debris it generated.

WHO: Nevada County residents impacted by the December snowstorms.

WHAT: Residents are invited to drop off all brush, slash, and vegetative material generated from the snowstorms. There is no limitation to the size or volume of storm-related green waste debris residents may bring. Please note, trash, treated wood, and root balls will not be eligible items for disposal.

WHEN: 9:00 am- 3:00 pm March 25th, 26th & 27th April 8th, 9th & 10th WHERE: 12625 Brunswick Rd, Grass Valley CA (Use the entrance at Millsite Rd. and E. Bennett Rd.)
