The MAC, as we call this group, continues to meet monthly – at 6 pm on the third Thursday of the month – to advise me (as the District 4 supervisor), the overall Board of Supervisors, and the Planning Department on land use and development-related issues in Penn Valley. There are numerous zoning and development projects working their way through the Planning Department that we will be reviewing over the next few months. Additionally, we have regular presentations from relevant agencies, like the great presentation we had in February from NID’s General Manager Jennifer Hanson. Jennifer presented on our watershed’s precipitation data, water storage levels and historical trends, as well as the Plan for Water process, which examines water demand, supply, risks, and strategies. The public is invited to be involved in that process, which is taking place right now, in a series of meetings. The next meeting, on April 19, will cover Stage 3 of the Plan: Watersheds.
