May is Building Safety Month. The International Code Council founded building Safety Month to promote worldwide building safety and help individuals, families, and businesses understand what it takes to create safe and sustainable structures in our communities.
“Community is at the heart of everything we do. The work we do to review plans and do inspections work to provide the best quality, safer builds, which safeguard the community from fire and personal danger,” said Craig Griesbach, Community Development Agency’s Building Director.
This month is developed to highlight a theme associated with building safety, and those themes are as follows:
- May 1st-8th: Energy and Innovation
- May 9th-15th: Building Safety Careers
- May 16th-22nd: Disaster Preparedness
- May 23rd-31st: Water Safety
