[ARCHIVED] CDA Removes Trash Along LaBarr Meadows Through Adopt-a-Road Program

CDA Adopt-a-Road LaBarr Meadows Clean-up

This Saturday, September 24th, eighteen staff volunteers cleaned up approximately 150 pounds of trash alongside LaBarr Meadows Road in Grass Valley. The County’s Community Development Agency (CDA) “adopted” LaBarr Meadows Road in 2022 as a part of the County’s Adopt-a-Road program. CDA’s Operation Center, which houses public works services such as roads, transit and fleet services, is located off LaBarr Meadows Road and is a natural fit for CDA staff to volunteer to keep Nevada County roads free of litter.

The Nevada County Adopt-A-Road Volunteer Program is an opportunity for individuals and groups to actively participate in keeping Nevada County roads free of litter. The County supports these volunteers by placing recognition signs along the stretch of roads being cleaned, providing equipment, training, and trash pickup.  Groups simply commit to four scheduled pickups per year.

Want to get involved? Residents can Adopt-a-Road through Nevada County Public Works. To learn more, visit www.NevadaCountyCA.gov/AdoptARoad. To inquire about adopting a roadway and which roadways are available, email public.works@nevadacountyca.gov or call (530) 265-1411.
