The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the Pink Patch Project, a collaborative Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser, in partnership with the Nevada City Police Department, the Grass Valley Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.
The goals of this project are to increase education about the importance of early detection and prevention, and to raise funds for further research, treatment and care of those who are currently battling breast cancer. Proceeds from the sales of the Pink Patches will be donated to the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Fund.
Individual Patches are available for $10.00 each. Nevada County Quad Pack which includes pink patches from Nevada County Sheriff, Nevada City Police, Grass Valley Police and Highway Patrol are available for $35.00 and can be purchased at the front counter of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office located at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City (530) 265-1471. Please contact Captain Alicia Burget for more information or to purchase patches. Cash (exact amount only) and checks made out to Nevada City Police Department are accepted. Patches can also be purchased at the Grass Valley Police Department and Nevada City Police Department.
In addition, throughout October, you may see some officers from local agencies wearing the pink patches on their uniform as a reminder of our commitment toward raising awareness among those we serve.
