The Nevada County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s office hosted the Motherlode Area III Conference for the California Association of County Treasurer and Tax Collectors (CACTTC) last month. The conference was well attended, with over 50 participants traveling to Nevada County, including neighboring County Treasurer-Tax Collectors, their staff, and associates. The group was welcomed by District V Supervisor Hardy Bullock followed by a Wild and Scenic Film Festival Kickoff presentation by South Yuba River Citizen's League Executive Director Melinda Booth. The remainder of the day was filled with educational sessions on current global economic trends, Treasury finance and investment practices, and property tax legislative updates, which provided participants with a full spectrum of current topics.
The conference wrapped up with a diverse roundtable discussion among peers, and concluded with a surprise visit from GVPD Officer Duncan and K9 Romeo who helped us recruit a new CACTTC Area Chair. We want to thank all of our sponsors, speakers and attendees for joining us and hope that they enjoyed their opportunity to visit and learn about our beautiful Nevada County community.
