Interested in becoming a candidate for an upcoming office in the March 5, 2024 Primary Election? There are a couple of ways to become a candidate. The first opportunity presented is the "Signature in Lieu" filing period. Potential candidates for office can choose to go out into the community and get signatures to help offset some of the cost of filing for office. If you are interested in becoming a candidate, you are NOT REQUIRED to participate in the "Signature in Lieu" process, but the option is available right now. Please contact Nevada County Elections either by calling (530) 265-1298 or through our email (elections.mail@nevadacountyca.gov) so we can answer any of your questions and you can get your official paperwork to gather signatures.
