October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Nevada County joins federal, state and local governments across the nation each year to raise cybersecurity awareness during October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM).
The Federal government since 2004 has recognized October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year the County has partnered with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity.
For 2023 CISA recommends the following four actions we all should take.
- Use strong passwords and a password manager
- Turn on multifactor authentication (MFA)
- Recognize and report phishing
- Update software
