Nevada County High School Students who plan to participate in Poetry Out Loud will receive in-person coaching from two poet librarians. We'll work on confidence, poise, clarity, voice, understanding and accuracy. Drop-ins welcome at the Madelyn Helling Library every 1st and 3rd Fridays, 4-5 pm.
Poetry Out Loud is a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering free educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition for high school students across the country. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.
This program is presented in partnership with the Nevada County Arts Council
