New funding, up to $40,000, is available for homeowners hoping to develop new Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs), also known as granny flats, in-law units, backyard cottages, or second units, in Nevada County.
The California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) ADU Program opened additional funding. They will grant up to $40,000 to qualified homeowners to reimburse ADU pre-development costs, including but not limited to site prep, architectural designs, permits, soil tests, impact fees, property surveys, and energy reports. To qualify, a homeowner must have a low or moderate income. Make sure to check if funds are available and if you qualify.
