Did you know Nevada County is currently working with Sierra Business Council to prepare an Energy Action Plan for the county?
Why an Energy Action Plan
The goal of the Energy Action Plan is to accelerate energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency projects done by residents, businesses, and public agencies in an effort to reduce energy bills and increase resiliency in the community. Feedback from the community is essential to the formation of this plan, which is why public participation is requested and encouraged so that the plan accurately reflects the community's values and unique characteristics.
Community Workshop and Input
SBC's Climate Planning Team, along with Nevada County, are inviting the public to attend a community workshop on October 22nd in the Board Chambers of the Eric Rood Administrative Center starting at 6:00 p.m. to find out more about the development of the plan as well as to provide input and feedback. The community is also encouraged to provide feedback through an online survey.
The public workshop and online survey each offer those who know the area best, its residents and business owners, the opportunity to weigh in on barriers as well as strategies and actions the County could pursue to increase energy efficiency, renewable energy, and water efficiency in unincorporated Nevada County. The information collected through the workshop and survey will inform the development of the Energy Action Plan goals, strategies, and implementation actions.
