Truckee, CA 96161

Tahoe City - Old Vacant Fire Station

300 North Lake Boulevard

Tahoe City, CA 96145

Why a Drug Take-Back Event?

Help protect our water supply by not flushing medications, and help protect our community as some may be abusing drugs taken from the medicine cabinets of family and friends.

Please put pills into a zip-lock bag and dispose of empty pill bottles in trash or recycling. Keep liquid medications in the original bottle and black out confidential information and put in zip-lock bag. Sharps are accepted at Tahoe City location but not Truckee location.

Ongoing Rx Take-Back Locations

If you can’t make this event, please utilize permanent Rx Drug Bins located at the Truckee Police Department and Placer County Sheriff Office –Tahoe Station, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or Washoe County Sheriff Office-Incline Station Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
