Nine Nevada County Vote Centers are open 7 a.m.-8 p.m. today for the Presidential Primary Election.

At the centers, voters can vote in person, drop off a ballot, get a replacement ballot, use accessible voting machines, get assistance in multiple languages, and register to vote or update registration.

Among the choices voters are asked to make are selections for candidates for President,  U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, state senate, state assembly, the Nevada County Board of Supervisors, the Nevada City Council, a state proposition and three local ballot measures.

The first results will be posted after polls close at 8 p.m. Updates will be posted every two hours after that through the evening. The elections canvass will begin on Thursday, March 7. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the office is expected to post updates every Tuesday and Friday until the canvass and certification process is complete.

Watch ballot processing on the office's live YouTube feed. Learn about the elections process by reading and subscribing to Registrar of Voters Natalie Adona's  Ballot Bulletin monthly email newsletter.
