Celebrate Earth Day; consider riding a Nevada County Connects bus on Saturday, April 20, and Monday, April 22, to help reduce carbon emissions and encourage transit use in Western Nevada County. Nevada County Connects will follow regular operating hours on all routes. And the best part? The fares are on us!
“It is a small action that can make a big difference!” explains Robin VanValkenburgh, Transit Services Program Manager. “This is a perfect opportunity to try out Nevada County Connects, even if it is to ride from the City of Grass Valley to the City of Nevada City.”
Riding public transit is one of many ways to help reduce carbon emissions; walking and riding bicycles are other great ways to impact the environment and remove vehicles from the roadway. Join us on Sunday, April 21, for Earth Day in Nevada City. Learn more about the new 100% zero-emission battery electric bus and chat with staff about the possibilities of using public transit to get around in Nevada County.
The County of Nevada Transit Services has received a Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP) air quality grant. The LCTOP provides public transit funding assistance for projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve mobility.
