The Nevada County Board of Supervisors approved three additional dates for residential green waste disposal at the McCourtney Road Transfer Station (14741 Wolf Mountain Rd, Grass Valley) on Monday May 6, 13 and 27 (Memorial Day) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. These dates are in addition to this Monday’s upcoming April 29 event and the recent April 15 event to help residents prepare their properties ahead of fire season.
Free Western County Drop-Off
WHAT:
Free Green Waste drop off days for Nevada County residents. This is an opportunity for residents to dispose of landscape trimmings including trimmed branches, leaves, grass clippings, shrubs, untreated wood, and flowers. Materials should not exceed 6 feet in length.

PLEASE NOTE:
No dirt, rock, sod, palm fronds, blackberry, poison oak, stumps, or scotch broom.
Firewise Community Green Waste Program
Nevada County Office of Emergency Services (OES) is also currently accepting sign-ups on a first come, first serve basis for their Firewise Community Green Waste Partnership Program. Bin drop-off begins Friday, May 3. Learn more or sign up at www.ReadyNevadaCounty.org/GreenWaste.
OES’ green waste programs expand on community-wide efforts to clean up hazardous vegetation around homes, neighborhoods, and evacuation routes in advance of fire season. OES has partnered with Waste Management of Nevada County, CAL FIRE, City of Grass Valley, City of Nevada City, Nevada County Consolidated Fire District to offer free green waste drop-off.
