County of Nevada Transit Services/Nevada County Connects announces a Temporary Service Reduction of weekday (Monday – Friday) fixed-route bus service. The service change will go into effect on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024. This temporary service reduction is due to a severe staffing shortage, hindering our ability to meet our service obligations.
Routes 1, 3, 2, 4, and 6 will have weekday schedules shortened to Saturday hours (7:30 A.M.—5 P.M.). Routes 5 to Auburn will reduce from six to four daily runs at 6 a.m., 9 a.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. (no 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.). Route 7 to North San Juan will remain the same. These hours are shown on our website schedules as grey-shaded areas.
This temporary service reduction will not affect our Fair Shuttle Service, we will still get you there!
These changes are expected to be in effect for 10 – 12 weeks from Aug. 1, though staff will make every effort to return to normal service hours as soon as possible.
If you, or someone you know is interested in becoming a transit driver, please visit https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/mynevadacounty and check out our current recruitments.
We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may cause. Our staff will do everything we can to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
