Steve Rose has been appointed as Nevada County's Human Resources Director, starting earlier this week on November 13th. Mr. Rose brings over 25 years of experience in human resources in the United States Air Force, Department of Homeland Security, and the Department of Energy. Most recently he has served as the Support Division Director at Beale Air Force Base. The Division provides comprehensive supply, transportation, communication services, aircraft maintenance, military personnel administration, transportation support and administrative services to 7,000 active, reserve, and civilian members of Team Beale.
Mr. Rose has a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Nebraska in Public Administration and two Master's Degrees, in Economics and Human Relations, from the University of Oklahoma. In addition, he has extensive training in human resources through the United States Air Force and has received over 20 major awards and decorations throughout his career. Mr. Rose is a certified Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma and has a proven track record of process improvement throughout his career. Mr. Rose's HR experience includes staffing, classification, employee benefits, pay administration, performance management, wellness programs, Equal Employment Opportunity, labor relations, employee training programs, and organizational development.
Mr. Rose is a native Northern Californian who joined the Air Force in 1987 and returned to California in 2008 as the Director of Operations at Beale Air Force Base where he retired from Active Duty in 2011. Steve is married to Misty Rose and they have two daughters, Torii age 16 and Mercedes age 12.
