NEVADA CITY, Calif. — The Nevada County Library is excited to unveil the winners of its Library Card Design Contest, a community-wide initiative that invited artists of all ages to create original designs under the theme "Libraries Are for Everyone." With more than 200 submissions, the contest showcased the remarkable creativity of Nevada County residents. Now, the library is inviting the community to join in a special event to celebrate the winners and recognize the artistic talent behind each submission.
A Community Celebration of Art and Literacy
To honor the six winning designs and the many talented participants, the library will host a Library Card Art Celebration at the Grass Valley Library on Thursday, April 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. Attendees can explore an art gallery featuring the contest entries, meet the winning artists, and take part in hands-on activities, including making personalized library card holders and buttons featuring their favorite designs. “The creativity and enthusiasm shown in these designs truly reflect the inclusive and inspiring role our libraries play in people’s lives,” said Mandy Kelsey, Branch Manager at Bear River Library.
