NEVADA CITY, Calif. — Nevada County is excited to welcome award-winning and bestselling author Jeff VanderMeer for a free public author talk as part of the Nevada County Reads 2025 program. The event will take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Nevada County Campus of Sierra College (Building N12 Multipurpose Center).
Event Overview
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the event runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. VanderMeer, known for his genre-defying Southern Reach Trilogy and his contributions to environmental speculative fiction, will be interviewed live by County Librarian Nick Wilczek.
Attendees will gain insight into VanderMeer’s writing process, body of work, and the power of storytelling in exploring real-world issues through fiction.
A book signing will follow the conversation. Local independent bookstore Harmony Books will be on-site offering a curated selection of VanderMeer’s titles for purchase.
