Construction will begin in June for a new paved multi-use trail on Combie Road that will benefit walkers, joggers, bicyclists, skaters, people with disabilities, families with strollers, and dog walkers.
Nevada County Board of Supervisors approved the contract with Hansen Brothers for the Combie Road Multi-Use Path Project connecting West Hacienda Drive near Lake of the Pines community to Higgins Road and the new Holiday Market shopping center.
The project will provide a safe, pedestrian-friendly access route away from vehicle traffic through a busy corridor that connects residential areas, the new Bear River Library, and schools with business development in the area. The new trail will add mileage to Nevada County’s existing public trail system.
Motorists can expect minimal delays during construction from June through July and are advised to be mindful of crews in the area. The project is funded by Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Funds.
