Back by popular demand: Nevada County is hosting a second oil filter exchange event this year. The event will take place on June 21. County residents who bring a used motor oil filter to O’Reilly Auto Parts during the event will get a free $15 voucher to purchase a new filter. Drop-off and purchase must be made during the same visit.
This event is to encourage oil filter recycling. Nevada County residents can bring up to two used oil filters for a $15 voucher, while supplies last.
A limited supply of oil change kits will also be given away to residents. The kits include a funnel, oil pan, and jug. The kits are limited to one per household.
The Oil Filter Exchange Event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at O’Reilly Auto Parts (by Raley’s), 742 Freeman Lane, Grass Valley.
Commercial customers and non-Nevada County residents will not be able to participate in the event.
The event is funded by CalRecycle’s Oil Payment Program Grant, which assists local governments with oil recycling collection and programs
