NEVADA CITY, Calif. - Nevada County Library is proud to announce the return of the Local Author Showcase, taking place Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Madelyn Helling Library in Nevada City.
This free, all-ages event will transform the library into a vibrant literary bazaar featuring up to 50 Nevada County authors sharing, signing, and selling their work across every genre, including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, memoir, and children’s literature.

Author panel discussion
At 1 p.m., attendees are invited to a live panel discussion in the Gene Albaugh Community Room, where featured local authors will share insights into the publishing process, from traditional routes to self-publishing and everything in between. This engaging conversation offers aspiring writers, students, and curious readers an invaluable opportunity to learn from experienced professionals. Panelists will discuss challenges, inspiration, and the evolving world of publishing, offering practical advice for those looking to bring their own stories to life.
Live music and local food
Adding to the festive atmosphere, the showcase will feature live jazz music by Grammy Award–winning musician Tommy Coster, performing throughout the afternoon. His smooth, uplifting sound will provide the perfect backdrop for an afternoon of literary celebration. Local food trucks will also be on site in the parking lot, serving delicious lunch and snack options for attendees to enjoy while they browse, read, and connect.
