[ARCHIVED] Assessor Releases 2025 Annual Report Highlighting County Growth and Public Service

Breaking News! 2025 Assessor's Annual Report Released with a picture of the cover.

Nevada County Assessor Rolf Kleinhans announces the release of the 2025 Assessor’s Annual Report, which provides an overview of the county’s assessment roll, property tax savings programs, and other key information.

“I am proud to share this year’s report, which reflects the dedication of our team and their commitment to serving the community with excellence,” said Kleinhans. “Their work ensures fair and accurate property assessments that help fund the essential services our residents rely on.”

The annual report is part of the Assessor’s Office’s ongoing effort to keep the public informed about the property assessment process and how property tax revenue supports schools, public safety, and other vital county services.

For 2025, Nevada County’s assessment roll reached a record $28.3 billion, an increase of 4.74% over last year. This figure represents the total gross assessed value of locally assessed real estate, business, and personal property as of January 1, 2025. Property tax revenue generated from this roll supports essential county programs, such as public schools, hospitals, road maintenance, law enforcement, fire protection, and so much more. The continued growth in assessed value underscores Nevada County’s vitality and enduring attractiveness as a place to live and do business.
