Nevada County Child Welfare continues to operate at full capacity to ensure that children and families are safe during this precarious time. Child Welfare has modified its practices to ensure that whenever possible our clients and social workers are practicing physical distancing while adhering to our State and Federal mandates to keep children safe and support families. Child Welfare workers are utilizing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while working in the field and have added additional services related to the COVID 19 outbreak. Child Welfare continues to investigate allegations of child abuse and neglect, broker appropriate services, and manage all of our Court ordered cases. Nevada County Child Welfare Services did well on the California Child and Family Services Reviews (C-CSFR) Outcomes for the most recent quarter of data. The C-CSFR was formed to improve outcomes of children in the Child Welfare System while keeping state and county agencies accountable for the effects of Child Welfare involvement on families. There are seven Federal Outcomes and four State Outcomes that have Standards by which counties are measured. The Outcomes evaluate statistics related to the safety, permanency, and well-being of children involved with Child Welfare Services. Nevada County exceeded the Outcome Standards for nine out of the eleven Outcomes in the most recent quarter.
