Nevada County Human Resources attended the International City Managers Association and International Public Managers Association-Human Resources Conference. Human Resources Director Steve Rose, and Susan Kader, Senior Management Analyst, were invited to share their innovative new hiring practices, which has reduced the County’s to hire candidates from 138 days to an average of 48.
ICMA and IPMA-HR both selected Nevada County’s entry to share at their conferences due to the impact this has on public sector organizations and the ability to adopt the concepts in any organization. While the ICMA conference in Columbus, Ohio, Steve and Susan spoke to over 60 attendees from around the globe on how Nevada County was able to not only decrease the number of days to hire candidates but also increase the quality of candidates while empowering our Human Resources recruiters to better engage with our internal hiring managers to create a strategic business partner relationship.
The IPMA conference was held in Washington, D.C. and the Nevada County Human Resources left a remarkable impression on the attendees with the County’s well-thought-out program demonstrating the ease to adapt all or part of based on the needs of their organization.
The impact of their program in Nevada county over the last year with 104 recruitments resulted in a cumulative of over 23.3 years saved over the old process. Our Nevada County Human Resources team has been recognized over the last year by winning 7 major International, National, and State awards and accolades and has represented our County as an innovator across the Country.
