Nevada County Library is currently hiring multiple full time positions located at our Grass Valley and Truckee locations. Positions available are Library Assistant II - Bilingual and  Library Assistant III. Join our awesome team working in public service for the Nevada County community! Work directly with the public providing excellent customer service, reader's advisory and dynamic library programming. Library Assistant III - Grass Valley 

Library Assistant III - Truckee Library Library Assistant II - Bilingual - Truckee Library 

Truckee positions will have an additional 10% Truckee differential pay and could be eligible for the rural health subsidies. 
Upon Spanish test completion and passing score there is an additional 5% bilingual pay.

Compensation: 
Position includes salary adjustments based on merit within the classification of employment. On each salary anniversary date, until an employee reaches the maximum salary step for the employee's salary range, salary and shall be advanced to the next higher step of the employee's salary range unless the employee's service is not satisfactory.

Benefits: 
The position is fully benefited. The County of Nevada offers an extensive benefit package which is valued at 50% of your pay (meaning, consider the value of your benefits as half again what your pay is). The benefits package includes:

  • CalPERS retirement plan, a defined benefit plan,
  • Medical—several choices of HMO and PPO plans
  • Dental—a “best in the business” dental plan which offers a generous per-year maximum
  • Vision—includes annual eye exams and a generous annual frame allowance
  • Life Insurance—equal to $50,000 with an option to purchase additional, supplementary life insurance at group rates to you
  • Flexible Spending Account—set aside on a pre-tax basis, up to the IRS maximum for eligible health related expenses
