NEVADA CITY, Calif. — The Nevada County Library is excited to announce a new series of free technology classes designed to help community members build their digital skills. These classes will be held at the Madelyn Helling Library’s Collaborative Technology Center Classroom, located at 980 Helling Way, Nevada City, Calif. Each class will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is designed for beginner to intermediate skill levels.
These classes are perfect for individuals looking to enhance their digital proficiency, whether for personal growth, career advancement, or staying connected in the modern world. Each session is designed to be interactive, with opportunities for questions and hands-on practice.
Class Schedule
November 6 — Intro to Social Media
Are you new to social media or looking to expand your knowledge? This class will introduce participants to popular platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. You’ll learn how to create an account, set up your profile, and connect with others. We’ll also cover privacy settings and tips for staying safe online while enjoying the benefits of social networking.
November 20 — Backing up your PC
Join us for a hands-on class where you'll learn how to back up your computer safely and easily. No tech experience needed—just bring your questions and we’ll help you leave with confidence (and peace of mind). Bringing your own device to follow along with or ask questions about is recommended.
December 4 — Intro to Windows 11
This informative session will guide you through the basics of Microsoft's latest operating system, including navigation tips, new features, and troubleshooting common issues. Whether you're upgrading or just getting started, this class is perfect for beginners and those looking to boost their confidence with Windows 11.
December 18 — Intro to Gmail
New to email or just want to brush up on the basics? Join us for an easygoing introduction to Gmail, where you'll learn how to send and receive emails, organize your inbox, manage contacts, and stay safe online. Perfect for beginners, this class will help you feel more confident navigating your Gmail account. Bring your device --questions welcome!
