Nevada County Public Health once again collaborated with Grizzly Hill School to host a free vaccination event to help kids get prepared for school entry or catch up on immunizations.
Six students, 1 sibling, and 1 staff member were vaccinated during the clinic, showcasing the ongoing effort to enhance immunity within the school community. In rural areas, accessing vaccination clinics can be challenging, making such partnerships crucial for ensuring widespread coverage. Nevada County Public Health’s Immunization Program seeks to alleviate some of the many challenges parents face when accessing vaccines for their children, such as transportation obstacles, work schedules, and more. Providing these services at school located events offers a convenient, familiar space for students to receive vaccines.
The success of the vaccination clinic underscores the importance of community-driven healthcare initiatives. The ongoing use of the Public Health Mobile Health Unit has been pivotal in extending vital health services across Nevada County.
We extend our gratitude to Grizzly Hill School, and all involved in making this initiative possible. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting health and well-being throughout Nevada County.
