Nevada City, Calif. - Nevada County Housing and Community Services has funding available to repair or replace manufactured and mobile homes for lower-income homeowners in Nevada County’s mobile home parks. The application is currently open and will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

"Home repair is an important strategy to address housing affordability,” says Tyler Barrington, Housing and Community Services director. “This funding supports affordability of home ownership in Nevada County by preserving existing homes.”

Priority will be given to eligible homes with existing health and safety code violations. Homes with extensive repairs, or homes older than 1976 may be replaced with newer homes. Other qualifying repairs include accessibility or energy upgrades.

“Manufactured and mobile homes are an important source of affordable housing, but they often have deferred maintenance or aging infrastructure to address” says Eric Zibbel, housing project manager for Housing and Community Services. “With this program, homeowners can get the repairs they need and remain in their homes.”

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have an income at or below 80% of the area median income. For a household of one person, income can be as high as $58,350 per year, and a family of four can earn up to $83,350 and qualify for the program. More information about income limits can be found on the Nevada County Housing and Community Services website.

More Information

Funding is available through the Manufactured Housing Opportunity and Revitalization (MORE) program, administered through the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).

Anyone who owns and lives in a mobile home and meets the eligibility requirements is encouraged to apply. Mobile homes must be located in a mobile home park in Nevada County. Residents can submit their application and learn more about the program on the Nevada County Housing and Community Services website.
