[ARCHIVED] Statewide Special Election Results Schedule

Bluecrest 350

Nevada County will continue to count ballots from the Nov. 4, 2025 Statewide Special Election as allowed per the California elections code and regulations. As of 10:40 p.m. on Election Night, 33,780 ballots have been processed and tabulated.

Today, Nov. 6, the office will report to the Secretary of State estimated unprocessed ballots to be counted. Under state law, the Elections Office must count all ballots postmarked on Election Day as long as it receives them by the end of the day Nov. 12.

Voters also have until Nov. 30 to cure missing or mismatched signatures. The earliest date the election results can be certified is Dec. 2.

“The certification of election takes time because state policies were created with the intent to make sure any valid ballot can be processed and counted,” said Registrar of Voters Armando Salud-Ambriz.

Count updates will be posted every Friday and Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. (excluding holidays) until the count is completed on www.NevadaCountyCa.gov/Elections. Due to the Veteran’s Day holiday Tuesday, Nov. 11, election results will be updated Wednesday, Nov. 12.

The elections canvass, or certification process, is underway. The canvass is the official review process during which election staff verify that all valid ballots have been counted and signature verification and other checks have been completed.
