Moving Beyond the Blueprint

This week, the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy tier system was lifted, allowing business operations to move back to pre-pandemic operations without capacity limitations. As California moves forward with reopening, many are eager to get out and enjoy. The COVID-19 vaccines are effective in preventing infection, disease, and spread, however, with just over 50% of Nevada County residents fully vaccinated, COVID has not gone away.

California guidance is now in alignment with the CDC guidance on masks and face coverings. Fully vaccinated people to go unmasked in most places. However, you might not see masks go away completely. Under the State's current guidance, a business could request that all their customers wear masks, and people may choose to continue to wear masks as we transition back to normal. Masks are also still required for everyone in some settings, such as public transit, schools, healthcare settings, correction facilities, and shelters.

California Launches New Digital Tool Giving Residents Access to Their COVID-19 Vaccine Record

The California Department of Public Health and California Department of Technology announced a new Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record for Californians, available at myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov. The tool is a convenient option for Californians who received a COVID-19 vaccination to access their record from the state's immunization registry systems.

"While CDPH recommends that vaccinated Californians keep their paper CDC card in a safe and secure place, we recognize that some people might prefer an electronic version," said California State Epidemiologist Dr. Erica Pan. "And if one of the state's nearly 20 million vaccinated Californians misplaces their paper card, the Digital COVID-19 Vaccine Record provides a convenient backup."

"I'm looking forward to working with our partners on Board Objectives that will have a major impact on our community," said Board of Supervisors Chair Dan Miller. "Thank you to our budget team for putting this budget document together and showing so clearly how the budget dollars will be put to good use."
