Vote for Your Favorite Art to Wrap Local Buses

Nevada County Transit is pleased to announce their new brands, Nevada County Connects (formerly Gold Country Stage) and Nevada County Now (formerly Gold Country Lift).

In celebration of the new name, Nevada County Transit is turning the buses into rolling art installations. With two designated Cultural Arts Districts, Nevada County is home to many talented artists. We tapped the creative community to submit their vision for an original work of art to be displayed on our fleet of eleven Nevada County Connects buses. The project's goal is to raise awareness around local transit options by highlighting art that exemplifies the cultural diversity, love for the outdoors, and creativity of our community. “The artwork created for this project reflects what draws the artist to Nevada County,” explains Robin VanValkenburgh, Transit Services Division Manager.

Ready Nevada County

September is National Preparedness Month

National Preparedness Month (NPM) is an observance each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. The 2021 theme is “Prepare to Protect. Preparing for disasters is protecting everyone you love.”

Ready Nevada County represents the multifaceted stakeholder effort coordinated by the County of Nevada to raise awareness and mobilize the community to prevent and prepare for wildfire. We are working to expand Nevada County’s wildfire readiness through increased planning, strategic partnerships, improved communication, and ongoing public engagement.
Don’t wait to talk to your friends, family, and neighbors about their emergency plans. Look for the Ready, Set, Go! Handbook in the mail or online. Every minute you spend signing up for Emergency Alerts, knowing your evacuation zone, creating a go-bag, and planning your evacuation routes saves time in an emergency when seconds count.

Travel is also not recommended if you or your travel companions are sick with symptoms of COVID-19, are suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19 (even without symptoms), or have been around someone with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19 in the past 14 days (even without symptoms).

Wear a mask, keep your distance, and help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
