As we head into the last months of 2021, I want to bring focus to and celebrate the many ways we have come together this year as a community. Looking back, we've accomplished so much. Fundraising through the Nevada County Relief Fund to support our local non-profits and businesses, celebrating the reopening of the historic Bridgeport Covered Bridge, and kicking off our 1st annual Military Appreciation Week are just a few of the highlights that come to mind.
Pictured below are Miles and Willa, four and two years old, who stopped by the Eric Rood Center last Friday to trick-or-treat with their mom, a County employee. It was so nice to see kids trick or treating again and enjoying time with friends.
Sincerely, Alison

Bridgeport Covered Bridge Reopens After 10 YearsAfter closing to foot traffic in 2011, the historic Bridgeport Covered Bridge at South Yuba River State Park reopened on Thursday, November 4th, for the community to walk across and enjoy.
State Parks celebrated the reopening with the Save Our Bridge Campaign Committee, Sierra Gold Parks Foundation, Nevada County, the South Yuba River Citizens League, Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, area chambers of commerce, elected officials, and many other members of the public. For over a decade, these partners, local residents, and students have supported the restoration of this treasured landmark, which required $6.9 million in funding to rehabilitate.

Participate in Nevada County's Supervisorial Redistricting ProcessRedistricting determines which neighborhoods and communities are grouped together into districts for the purposes of electing the County’s Board of Supervisors. This process happens every ten years following the Census to ensure that each member of the Board of Supervisors represents the same number of constituents.
After receiving initial comments from the public, four supervisorial redistricting options have been developed. The public can provide comments on these four options at two upcoming public hearings on November 9th and 16th during the Board of Supervisors meetings or provide input via eComments at www.MyNevadaCounty.com/BoardMeetings, emailing redistricting@co.nevada.ca.us, or using the DistrictR Community of Interest public mapping tool at www.MyNevadaCounty.com/Redistricting.
