Nevada County at the Annual ICMA Conference

Nevada County Human Resources Attends Conference to Share Innovation

Members of Nevada County's Human Resources department recently attended the International City Managers Association (ICMA) and International Public Managers Association-Human Resources (IPMA-HR) Conference. Human Resources Director Steve Rose and Senior Management Analyst Susan Kadera were invited to share their innovative new hiring practices, which have reduced the County’s time to hire candidates from 138 days to an average of 48 days.

ICMA and IPMA-HR selected Nevada County’s entry to share at their conferences due to the impact this has on public sector organizations and the ability to adopt the concepts in any organization. While at the ICMA conference in Columbus, Ohio, Steve and Susan spoke to over 60 attendees from around the globe on how Nevada County was able to not only decrease the number of days to hire candidates but also increase the quality of candidates while empowering our Human Resources recruiters to better engage with our internal hiring managers to create a strategic business partner relationship.

Connecting Point is proud to announce that local resident Anne Rarick has been hired as the Tahoe Truckee COAD Manager. Anne served as the Director of Hunger Relief for Sierra Community House for the past several years and has a long history of working with nonprofits and community groups in the Tahoe Truckee area.
