Christmas Tree Permits Available for Tahoe and Plumas National Forest

How do you reduce wildfire risk and increase holiday cheer? By obtaining a Christmas Tree Permit, of course! Removal of small-diameter trees from selected areas reduces wildfire risk by reducing over-growth, particularly among firs. Tahoe National Forest and Plumas National Forest have both opened their tree-cutting programs for the season. Species available to cut are pine, fir, or cedar.

Tahoe National Forest Christmas Tree Permits are valid from November 7th through December 31st and can be obtained on Recreation.gov's website.

Give Back with CNL's Giving Tuesday Nonprofit Wishlist

Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity year-round.

Anyone who lives in or visits Nevada County knows it’s a special place; and it’s not just the beautiful scenery and iconic history. Our community is rich with nonprofit organizations that enhance our lives every day with essential community services that help people to connect, grow, and thrive. These organizations are threads in the fabric that make Nevada County so special.

The Center for Nonprofit Leadership is proud to present Western Nevada County’s annual Giving Tuesday Nonprofit Wish List. This wish list gives you an opportunity to give back to local nonprofits and help them do what they do best.
