Winter Storm Recovery Resources

As residents continue to recover from the February/March 2023 winter storms, Nevada County has created a one-stop-shop website with information on local, state, and federal recovery resources for individuals and businesses.

Go to ReadyNevadaCounty.org/StormRecovery for information on resources like:

  • CalFresh Replacement Benefits (claims must be submitted by March 30th!)
  • Property Tax Relief
  • Building Permit Fee Waivers

Nevada County residents with property loss or damage are strongly encouraged to complete our Storm Survey to help us advocate for state and federal support.

If you are a local business owner, please complete our Business Impact Survey. This will help our Office of Emergency Services assess overall damage and needs so that we can advocate for state and federal assistance.

Nevada County Reads: One Book, One Community was designed to deepen engagement in literature through reading and discussion. Everyone in the community can participate: read a book, share perspectives, attend a program, engage on social media and build a stronger Nevada County together.  The program is presented by the Nevada County Library in partnership with the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, and is funded in part by the Friends of the Nevada County Libraries.

Pick up an honor book copy of Interior Chinatown at a library near you. When you've finished reading it, pass it along to a friend or add it to your neighborhood Little Free Library!
