Nevada County is asking for community input on whether recreational vehicles (RVs) should be allowed as permanent or semi-permanent housing on private property. A new public survey is open and takes five minutes to complete.
The survey may only be taken once and must be completed by Aug. 10.
In response to community requests and the direction of the Board of Supervisors, County staff is in the process of drafting an ordinance that could expand legal housing options to include RVs. Many residents are already living in RVs which are not permitted as permanent housing on private property and live in fear of being kicked out of their homes.
The goal is to present a final ordinance to the Board of Supervisors for review this fall.
