Nevada County Transit Services is celebrating 50 years of serving western Nevada County with the Free Fares Day event, which will be held from Wednesday, Aug. 6 through Sunday, Aug. 10 in conjunction with the Nevada County Fair. Nevada County Connects services will be free to ride during the fair, so hop on the bus and enjoy stress-free travel around the community.
In addition to the Free Fare Event, Nevada County Connects will operate a free shuttle service from Tinloy Transit Center in downtown Grass Valley (across the street from Gold Miner’s Inn) to the main gate at the fairgrounds, including stops at Pine Creek and Grass Valley shopping centers/Papa Murphy’s.
The fair shuttle will depart Tinloy Transit Center approximately every 30 minutes Wednesday, Aug. 6 through Sunday, Aug. 10. The shuttle runs between 10:30 a.m. and 11 p.m.
Nevada County Now paratransit will offer free fares on Thursday, Aug. 7 in conjunction with Community Day at the Fair.
County of Nevada Transit Services has received a Low Carbon Transit Operations Program air quality grant that provides public transit funding assistance for projects that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve mobility.
