Nevada County invites residents to participate in two upcoming workshops to share feedback that will help shape the County’s Resource Resiliency Roadmap. The roadmap is intended to help safeguard the community’s economic durability, environmental integrity and health in the face of changing climate conditions.
The roadmap will provide voluntary strategies and partnerships to strengthen Nevada County’s ability to adapt to climate impacts such as wildfire smoke, extreme heat, power outages, and reduced snowpack, while positioning the County for future state and federal funding opportunities.
The workshops are:
- Wednesday, Feb. 25, 5:30 – 7 p.m. – In-person at the Nevada County Government Center, 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City

Residents will review draft measures (strategies) focused on the Economic and Resource Resilience System and other key systems, and provide feedback on priorities, barriers, and equity considerations to guide final recommendations.
This is one of the last opportunities for residents to weigh in before the draft roadmap is released in late spring 2026. The development of the Resource Resiliency Roadmap is funded by the Regional Resilience Grant Program through the Governor's Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation.
Climate resiliency is one of the Board of Supervisors’ eight priority objectives. The Board strives to prepare for, adapt to and mitigate changing climate conditions in a way that reflects the community’s rural way of life.
