Nevada County Announces Return of Market Match Program with Expanded Access and New Partnerships

The Nevada County Department of Social Services is pleased to announce the return of the Market Match Program, beginning September 6, 2025, with expanded offerings and a renewed commitment to food access for CalFresh customers.

This year’s program will continue to be administered by Sierra Harvest, and due to the delayed start, the Market Match Program will operate through February 28, 2026, or until allocated funds are depleted.

Participating Market Match Locations and Programs

Nevada City Summer Farmers Market

  • Location: Union Street, Downtown Nevada City
  • Schedule: Saturdays through December 20, 2025 | 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Match: Up to $10 in EBT funds per market

Mountain Bounty Farm – CSA Vegetable or Fruit Share

  • Offer: 50% discount on monthly CSA subscription (Regular or Small box)
  • Delivery: Weekly to convenient drop-off locations throughout Western Nevada County

Tahoe Truckee Food Hub – CSA Harvest Box

  • Offer: 50% match on individual Harvest Box purchases
  • Pickup Locations:
    • Tahoe Food Hub Warehouse (12116 Chandelle Way, Unit D1, Truckee, CA 96161)
      • Thursdays: 4 PM – 7 PM
      • Fridays: 10 AM – 6 PM
      • Saturdays: 12 PM – 6 PM
    • Tahoe City Drop-off Location

CalFresh customers may combine benefits by using a portion of their EBT funds at the Nevada City Market and a portion toward a CSA box, receiving a total match of up to $30 per week.

How to Participate

At Farmers Markets:

  • Present EBT card and valid ID at the Market Manager’s booth
  • Purchase tokens and receive up to $10 in matching tokens per market

With CSA Box Programs:

  • Use EBT card to make purchases
  • Match is automatically applied, up to $30 per week
  • EBT card must be presented at time of pickup

Grass Valley Farmers Market Update

Please note that the Grass Valley Farmers Market will not participate in the 2025–2026 Market Match Program as they continue efforts to recertify their EBT vendor status. We look forward to their future involvement.
