Help Shape the Future of the South Yuba River Experience

Home Posted on September 10, 2025

As summer winds down, Nevada County is asking residents and visitors to reflect on their time at the Yuba River. The County has launched a short survey to better understand how people use this treasured natural resource.

Survey questions ask how long you generally stay at the river, how you get there, what you bring and if you would be interested in a low-cost shuttle.

The South Yuba River Public Safety Cohort is conducting a feasibility study specific to the Highway 49 crossing for a low-cost river shuttle. The goal would be to make river visits safer, easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

"Taking the survey only takes a few minutes," said Shavati Karki-Pearl, the County's senior administrative analyst working on recreation. "Let's co-create a better way to enjoy the river we all love."
